CTR's (Canadian Tamil Radio) Natchathira Vizha 2026 once again demonstrated why it has become one of the most anticipated annual celebrations for the Tamil community in Canada. Held over three days from June 26 to June 28, 2026, at the intersection of Morningside Avenue and Finch Avenue in Scarborough, the festival transformed the venue into a vibrant gathering place where families, artists, businesses and community organizations came together to celebrate Tamil heritage, music, culture and identity. The annual Star Festival has grown into a landmark community event that attracts thousands of visitors while showcasing the richness and diversity of Tamil culture in Canada.

Throughout the weekend, attendees enjoyed an exciting mix of live entertainment, cultural performances, food vendors, shopping experiences and family friendly activities. The festival created an energetic atmosphere where visitors of all ages could experience traditional and contemporary Tamil arts while supporting local entrepreneurs and community organizations. The event highlighted the continued growth of the Canadian Tamil community and reinforced the important role that cultural festivals play in preserving heritage while bringing generations together.

One of the festival's highlights was its impressive lineup of live performances featuring talented artists who entertained enthusiastic audiences throughout the weekend. Among the featured performers was Vaheesan Rasaiya, known professionally as Vaaheesan, whose appearance added excitement to the event. His performance reflected the festival's commitment to showcasing talented Tamil artists and providing a stage where performers can connect directly with the community. His participation contributed to an unforgettable atmosphere filled with music, energy and celebration that resonated with audiences across all three days.

Beyond the entertainment, Natchathira Vizha continued to serve as an important platform for community engagement. Local businesses, cultural organizations and community leaders interacted with visitors, creating opportunities to strengthen relationships and celebrate shared achievements. The presence of exhibitors, vendors and sponsors reflected the strong support that the festival receives from across the Greater Toronto Area, further establishing it as a cornerstone event within the Canadian Tamil calendar.

The festival also welcomed the participation of public officials and community representatives who recognized the significance of the event in promoting multiculturalism and community pride. Their attendance highlighted the important contributions of the Tamil community to Canada's social, cultural and economic landscape while reinforcing the value of inclusive events that celebrate diversity and foster unity.

Canadian Tamil Radio has played a vital role in connecting Tamil Canadians for many years through news, entertainment, music and community programming. Natchathira Vizha has become an extension of that mission, bringing listeners and community members together in person to celebrate their shared language, traditions and culture. The festival reflects CTR's ongoing dedication to promoting Tamil arts, supporting local talent and creating opportunities for cultural expression that inspire future generations.

As another successful edition comes to a close, Natchathira Vizha 2026 stands as a testament to the strength, resilience and unity of the Canadian Tamil community. Through outstanding performances, meaningful community engagement and a welcoming atmosphere for families and visitors alike, the festival once again delivered a memorable celebration of Tamil culture. With artists such as Vaaheesan captivating audiences and thousands gathering over the three day event, CTR Canadian Tamil Radio's Natchathira Vizha continues to strengthen cultural connections while celebrating the traditions, creativity and achievements of Tamil Canadians.
