On January 17, 2026, Yugam Radio and Television, in collaboration with Councillor Jamaal Myers, proudly hosted a Tamil Heritage Month Celebration at the Frontline Community Centre in Scarborough. The event brought together community members, artists, and local leaders to honor and celebrate the rich history, traditions, and contributions of the Tamil Canadian community.

The evening was filled with vibrant cultural performances, inspiring speeches, and meaningful interactions that highlighted the importance of preserving Tamil heritage for future generations. Families and youth from across the Greater Toronto Area gathered to take part in the festivities, creating an atmosphere of unity and pride.

Councillor Jamaal Myers addressed attendees and emphasized the value of multiculturalism and the significant role the Tamil community plays in the social and cultural fabric of Toronto. He commended Yugam Radio and Television for their continued efforts in promoting Tamil language, arts, and media within Canada.

Representatives from Yugam Radio and Television spoke about the importance of Tamil Heritage Month as a time to reflect on the journey of Tamil Canadians and to celebrate their achievements in various fields, including business, education, arts, and community service.

The program featured traditional Tamil music, dance performances, and presentations by local talent. Community leaders and organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the event, noting that such gatherings strengthen cultural identity and bring people closer together.

The celebration at Frontline Community Centre served as a reminder of the resilience, creativity, and unity of the Tamil Canadian community. Organizers hope to continue hosting similar events in the future to inspire younger generations and keep Tamil traditions alive in Canada.

Yugam Radio and Television thanked Councillor Jamaal Myers, community partners, volunteers, and attendees for making the event a memorable success.
